Objectives
To give all personnel an understanding of the causes of accidents in the workplace and the action that is required both in the long and short term to minimise the effects of such accidents/incidents. To enable delegates to identify actual or potential hazards in the workplace, and to assess the risk from these actual/potential hazards, in order for them to initiate an action plan to minimise the dangers from them. Ensuring that delegates understand the important points of law affecting accident prevention and explain some of the effects and consequences of legislation.

- How to check if someone is at risk of falling.
5. Where and When Do Falls Happen?
- Common places where people fall (home, stairs, bathrooms, outdoors).
- When falls often happen (moving around, at night, during activities).
- How falls can affect health and confidence.
6. How to Stop Falls from Happening
- Simple ways to prevent falls (exercise, good lighting, safe floors, handrails).
- Using special tools like walking aids.
- Checking for dangers in the home or workplace.
7. What to Do if Someone Falls
- How to safely help someone who has fallen.
- Checking for injuries.
- Writing down what happened and how to prevent another fall.
