Prevention and Management of Violence & Aggression

Workplace violence and aggression pose significant risks in many industries, particularly in healthcare, social care, security, and customer-facing roles. Effective training in Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) is essential for ensuring staff safety, regulatory compliance, and professional competency.

PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training is designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to safely manage and de-escalate potentially violent or aggressive situations. It is particularly useful for those working in healthcare, social care, education, and other forward-facing roles.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in your workplace is of utmost importance and should be upheld through established policies and procedures that define a conducive work environment. However, there are instances when a colleague’s behaviour displays anger or aggression toward another team member.

Key skills:

  • Non-physical ways to manage difficult behaviour using body language and calm gestures.
  • How to respond to verbal threats and when to get help.
  • How to report incidents and seek support afterwards.

We facilitate PMVA training all over the UK and enable our students to feel more confident in managing challenging behaviours using safe and effective restraint, breakaway and positive handling techniques.
